How to Switch Digital Cluster Settings 2020 RAV4 cockpit showcase First of all, your RAV4 must have the digital speedometer with the 7-inch MID. The RAV4 trims that have this feature are: Adventure, TRD Off-Road, XSE Hybrid, Limited, and Limited Hybrid. If your RAV4 does have this feature, then follow these steps:
Press either left arrow or right arrow on your MID controller, located on the left-hand side of your steering wheel Navigate to the Settings screen, marked by acronyms like LTA, PCS, and BSM Press the downward arrow until you find the MID Settings option, listed with a small icon of the Toyota MID and the word “Settings” Press and hold the OK button on your MID controller until the MID Settings menu opens Use the downward arrow to navigate to the Meter Type option. Press the OK button Select between Analog and Digital speedometer displays There you go. Any time you want to switch between the two options, just repeat these steps.

First and foremost, the integrated navigation system is much more accurate than a smartphone. An integrated GPS relies only on a strong GPS signal; there’s no data usage whatsoever. Integrated navigation doesn’t “lose service” like a phone can. And since the signal is stronger and not reliant on 4G data speeds, it is more precise, meaning you won’t miss a turn because your smartphone’s navigation thinks you’re a quarter mile behind your current location. Integrated navigation can’t be lost like a phone and is harder to steal than one, too. Integrated navigation is also covered under your vehicles warranty. The boost to the resale value of a car with integrated navigation is also pretty nice.

That boost in resale value is a double-edged sword. Integrated navigation can be expensive. Not only that, but since integrated navigation doesn’t use data, updating the maps on your vehicle’s GPS requires a physical device, usually a memory card, to keep up-to-date. As you can imagine, these aren’t free.
Should I Get Integrated Navigation?
It depends. If you travel a lot, then integrated navigation is an excellent idea. You usually only have to purchase updated map memory cards every few years, and it only costs around 1-2 months of phone bills. If you really only travel locally, occasionally requiring navigation, then a vehicle with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility will be more than adequate enough for your needs.

While we always recommend that you bring in your vehicle for regular servicing and check-ups, we respect and support the DIY home mechanic. One of the more basic car maintenance skills that people tend to learn when getting into cars and car care is changing the oil in a vehicle. If you go to the automotive section of your local department store, you’ll be greeted by a full wall of oils, all with different names and designations. None of them tell you which oil goes in which vehicle.
So, what kind of oil does a 2020 Toyota Camry use?

The 2020 Toyota Camry takes 0W-20 synthetic oil. Toyota has an additive that’s added to their OEM oil, which can be purchased a Toyota dealership. However, any 0W-20 synthetic oil that is ILSAC-certified will work. In the event that you are unable to find 0W-20 synthetic oil, 5W-30 mineral oil will work. However, it must be switched out the 0W-20 synthetic oil at the next oil change.
How often should I change the oil in my Camry?
The exact service intervals are listed in the owner’s manual for your Camry. For the vast majority of synthetic oil cases though, the interval is every 10,000-miles/12-months*. Older Camry models that use 5W-30 mineral oil have an interval of 5,000-miles/6-months. Other maintenance, like tire rotation and fluid adjustments, should still be performed every 5,000-miles/6-months, even in vehicles with a 10,000-mile/12-month oil change interval.
*Making consistent short trips (i.e. city-only driving) in temperatures under 32°F/0°C or excessive idling changes this interval to 5,000-miles/6-months per Toyota guidelines.

The processes and ethos behind vehicle names are often convoluted and arbitrary. Or rather, it can feel like that a lot of the time. It can be simple. For instance, Camry is the English version of the Japanese word “kanmuri,” which means “crown.” Sometimes, names are just acronyms, like the RAV4, which stands for “recreational activity vehicle: 4-wheel drive.”
So that brings us to one of the newest and oddest-named additions to the Toyota lineup: the C-HR. It seems like it could be an acronym, but is it? What does C-HR stand for?
What C-HR Means
The mysterious “C-HR” moniker is an acronym. According to the official Toyota press release, the name C-HR is “derived from Compact High Rider and Cross Hatch Run-about.” The idea of a “compact high rider” makes sense. “Compact” is self-explanatory; the C-HR is-dimensions-wise-a small crossover SUV. As the C-HR is also an SUV, it has a higher stance than the average sedan, hence the “high rider” part of the name. “Cross hatch” is also pretty intuitive, as it resembles the dual design philosophy of hatchbacks and crossover SUVs.
C-HR Specs
As a crossover SUV, the C-HR focuses on utility and performance. It has a 19.1 cu-ft of cargo space with the rear seats up, which is in line with a typical hatchback. With the rear seats folded down, the space expands to 37 cu-ft, resembling the average capacity of a two-row SUV. Under the hood of the C-HR is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 144 horsepower and 139 lb-ft of torque. The drivetrain is limited to FWD, much like a typical hatchback or sedan.

Do Manuals Get Better Mileage?
In the past, yes; nowadays, no. With older vehicles, even by just a few years, a stick shift will get better gas mileage because the engine doesn’t have to work as hard as an automatic to shift gears. According to Consumer Reports, as recently as 2015, this difference can be anywhere from two to five more mpg.
However, since then, automatic transmissions gained multiple gears with lower ratios that reduce the stress on the engine and transmission, vastly increasing fuel economy. The CVT has been considerably refined in past couple years as well, making for another non-manual alternative with excellent fuel economy thanks to not having fixed gear ratios.
Hybrids Get the Best Mileage
The posterchild for great fuel economy is the hybrid, which employs electric motors and CVTs to get mpg far above what a traditional combustion engine and manual transmission can do alone. For instance, the Toyota Prius gets a staggering 54/50/52 mpg.
Manuals are Cheaper
Where manuals still win the day, though, is in initial and repairs costs. Manuals usually cost somewhere between $800-$1200 less than their traditional automatic counterparts. And thanks to fewer moving parts, the manual transmission is also easier, and therefore less costly, to repair. However, in the States, few know how to drive a manual, and even fewer want to buy a new vehicle with an automatic transmission. This translates into difficulties regarding resale.

Locating the Gas Cap Release in a Camry
Where the gas release is depends on the year of Camry, though Toyota is pretty consistent with where it keeps the release mechanism. If your gas reservoir door doesn’t open manually, then chances are that the release mechanism is located on the left-hand side floor just in front of the driver’s seat. On newer models, it should be right below the “Open Trunk” lever.
If there is no release lever in that spot, take a look at the left most part of the dash. Somewhere on there, likely below steering wheel level, will be your release. If you can’t locate it at all, we recommend calling whoever services your vehicle regularly. They will know where to find the release.
What if the Fuel Door Doesn’t Open?
Take a credit card and slide it in opposite of the hinges. Have someone pull the release while you apply force with the card. If this doesn’t work, call a mechanic. Besides a worn-out spring or dirty hinge, other problems require a certified technician to fix. Whatever you do, do not try to pry the cap open with heavy duty tools, like a crowbar. Doing so could damage the body, the paint, and the mechanism itself.

Toyota is a variation of the name Toyoda. The original Toyoda company invented and produced numerous types of looms. In 1933, Toyoda decided to foray into the automotive market, expanding greatly in 1956 after steady successes. Toyoda means “fertile rice patty” referring to Japan’s most prominent cash crop. To distinguish themselves from the agricultural connotations of Toyoda Loom Inc., they changed their name to Toyota, which is similar sounding, but without ties to the farming industry. In the Japanese alphabet, Toyoda takes ten strokes to write, where Toyota only needs eight. Not only is Toyota easier to write, but eight is a lucky number in Japan, so the change was perceived as auspicious.

The Toyota logo as it is today had its American debut in 1990. It shows three overlapping ellipses, each of which represents an important facet of Toyota as a company. How To Use Integrated Navigation
The Entune® navigation system operates by searching for a destination and then providing turn-by-turn directions to that destination. Your phone needs to be paired with your Toyota vehicle. It must also be connected to the internet, so if your data plan is insufficient, you may need to upgrade. You must also have an Entune® App Suite account. If you meet all those criteria, then follow these steps:
- Press MENU on the faceplate
- Select Apps
- Choose Destination Search
- Pick one of the options:
- Enter a Search Term
- Categories

After you have pressed Enter a Search Term :
- Enter an address or a Point of Interest (like movie theatre or coffee)
- Press OK
- Destination search results display in a list form
- Pick one of the results or search a new new destination if necessary
- Touch Map to engage navigation to selected destination
- Press Go to (O) (use destination icon) to begin calculating route
- Select OK to begin navigation proper
“Categories” Instructions
If you don’t know exactly where you want to go, you can browse local options by selecting Categories . Once the Categories command has been pressed:
- Select a category from the list
- Use up and down arrows on the right side of the screen to peruse options
- After selection, destination results in chosen category will appear
- Select desired destination
