The 2021 Avalon is loaded with all sorts of features to keep you and your passengers engaged. Standard connectivity tech includes Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hotspot, SiriusXM satellite radio, and HD Radio. A 9-inch touchscreen and five USB ports are also standard. Available upgrades include a 14-speaker JBL stereo, wireless device charging, and GPS-linked navigation.
Each 2021 Toyota Avalon, regardless of trim, is equipped with the Toyota Safety Sense-P safety suite. That means every 2021 Avalon has standard forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, automatic high-beam LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, and a rearview camera. Higher trims get access to more driver assistive features, including a surround-view parking camera system, rear cross traffic braking, a heads-up display, and front and rear parking sensors.
The 2021 Avalon comes with one of two powertrains: a 2.5L four-cylinder with AWD or a 3.5L V6 with FWD. The 2.5L four-cylinder produces 205 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque. It gets 25/34/28 mpg. The 3.6L V6 produces 301 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque. It is rated at 22/31/25 mpg. The four-cylinder engine cannot be equipped with FWD, nor can the V6 be equipped with AWD.
