The 2021 Toyota Avalon Hybrid is one-of-a-kind, literally. It is the only full-size, non-luxury, hybrid sedan on the market. That means it’s completely unrivaled in the segment, making the 2021 Avalon Hybrid a very attractive option. Especially for those who want excellent fuel mileage.
Today, we’re going to take a look at the 2021 Toyota Avalon Hybrid. You’ll find information on the hybrid powertrain, infotainment tech, and safety suite below. Keep reading to learn more.
The 2021 Avalon Hybrid ditches the 3.5L V6 for something different: a 2.5L four-cylinder engine and two electric motors. Together, the hybrid system produces a combined 215 horsepower. This powertrain gives the 2021 Avalon Hybrid a big boost in fuel economy over the regular 2021 Avalon. The XLE Hybrid is rated at 43/44/44 mpg; the XSE Hybrid and Limited hybrid trims are estimated at 43/43/43 mpg.
Inside the cabin, the 2021 Avalon Hybrid is identical to the regular 2021 Avalon. That means it gets Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, and HD Radio, as well as a Wi-Fi hotspot, a 9-inch touchscreen, and five USB ports. A 14-speaker JBL stereo, wireless device charging, and GPS-linked navigation are included on higher trim levels.
Like the 2021 Avalon, every 2021 Avalon Hybrid is equipped with the Toyota Safety Sense-P safety suite. That suite includes forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam LED headlights, and a rearview camera. A surround-view parking camera system, rear cross traffic braking, a heads-up display, and front and rear parking sensors are included on higher trim levels.
