The 2020 Tacoma TRD Off-Road has it in the name: off-road. Toyota Racing Development (TRD) used their expertise and knowledge to make the Tacoma one of the best off-roaders available. It has a ¼-inch aluminum skid plate, a desert air intake, Bilstein shocks, an electronically locking rear differential, and Goodyear all-terrain tires. The Tacoma also has crawl control, multi-terrain select, hill-start assist control, and a multi-terrain monitor, all of which help you tackle the harshest terrain from inside the cabin. The Colorado Z71? It has a skid plate and all-terrain tires. That’s about it.
Toyota vehicles are known for their reliability and resale value. The same is true for the 2020 Tacoma. People tend to own their Toyota vehicles for a long time, with minimal issues. And when they do go to sell them, those same Toyota models retain their value. According to industry surveys, most people keep their vehicles for around six years. We decided to look up the Kelley Blue Book resale value of a 2014 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab with a V6. Fair Market value is listed at $23,568. The 2015 Colorado (Chevy didn’t make them in 2014) resale price? $17,133. We know which we prefer.
