The 2020 model year has been a busy and packed one for the Toyota brand, but one piece of news certainly sticks out above the rest as the most exciting and important – the return of the Supra. The legendary sports car first debuted back in 1978 and was an integral part of the sports car scene in North America through the early 2000s, but then it was discontinued. For the new model year, the Supra has finally returned and it’s better than ever. We thought we’d see how it fares against another popular and exciting 2-door sports car by pitting the 2020 Toyota Supra vs 2020 Nissan 370Z.
2020 Toyota Supra
2020 Nissan 370Z
|335 HP||Horsepower||332 HP|
|26 mpg||Combined Fuel Efficiency||20 mpg|
|10.2 cu. ft.||Cargo Capacity||6.9 cu. ft.|
The table above depicts some of the most important specifications to consider when shopping for such a sports car, and taking a quick glimpse already shows that the two sports cars are quite similar to one another, but one is superior. Starting right in the first row, the Supra delivers more horsepower than the Nissan 370Z. It might be only 3 HP, but that’s still an advantage nonetheless. And despite this superior horsepower, the Supra is packed with that trademark Toyota fuel economy as it achieves an extra 6 miles per gallon combined.
6 mpg might not seem like a huge advantage, but that’s going to translate to quite a bit of long-term savings at the gas station. The Supra’s trunk is slightly larger as well, 3.2 cubic feet to be exact. Again, not massive, but that’s like a full extra bag of luggage or groceries or whatever you might need to bring along with you. The 2-door coupes are both 2-seaters as well, though, as the last row depicts.
