Although the minivan class has been severely depleted since the popularity of soccer mom vans around the turn of the century and beyond, there are still a few minivans holding down the segment and proving that these vehicles are still great options for families – soccer mom or not. The #SwaggerWagon, as it’s been dubbed, is one of those great choices, and perhaps its biggest competition is from the Chrysler brands. We thought we’d see how these two minivan juggernauts measure up to one another by pitting the 2020 Toyota Sienna vs 2020 Chrysler Pacifica.
2020 Toyota Sienna
2020 Chrysler Pacifica
|296 HP||Horsepower||287 HP|
|21 mpg||Combined Fuel Efficiency||22 mpg|
|39.1 cu. ft.||Cargo Capacity||32.3 cu. ft.|
When it comes to minivans, space is certainly the most important aspect, but things like horsepower and efficiency are still important. Minivans have to be surprisingly powerful in order to cart around all those extra passengers, which is why it’s no surprise these two are approaching 300 horsepower. The Sienna does have a leg up however, in the form of 9 HP. That’s not a huge advantage, but it is slightly superior none the less.
The Pacifica does respond with superior fuel efficiency, though. Again, not a huge difference as it only achieves an additional mile per gallon combined, but it’s there. This just goes to show how similar the two minivans are to one another, further exemplified in the last row as they both can seat up to 7 passengers total. However, the big advantage and difference between the two comes in the third row as we look at cargo capacity.
Remember, space is one of the most important aspects of a minivan. The fact that the Sienna offers 6.8 extra cubic feet for cargo is a pretty huge advantage. If you think the Swagger Wagon is the right minivan for you, be sure to get in touch with us right here at Arlington Toyota!
