You probably know the story by now. When the minivan segment began sinking, the Toyota Sienna was one of the few to remain afloat. It has been one of the strongest in the segment for decades, since it was first introduced back in 1997, and now the 2020 Toyota Sienna in Palatine IL is one of the sportiest and freshest options in the class.
That first generation ran from the 1998 to 2003 model years, when it was then redesigned for its second generation, which itself ran right up until 2010. The 2011 model year saw the introduction of the third generation Sienna, the first version of the minivan we know today. It has still undergone several subtle changes and updates since then, including a recent facelift just a couple of years ago for the 2018 model year. Now, the specs & features of the Sienna make it truly worthy of its nickname Swagger Wagon.
Vehicles don’t usually get updated every year, or even every other year. Typically, an automobile goes 2-4 years before a facelift, and then another 2-4 before getting a generational shift. Obviously, this is only a rough estimate, and plenty of vehicles go outside of this formula one way or the other. But the Toyota Sienna has undergone small updates 6 out of the 8 years since it entered gen-3. That’s not a bad thing, that means Toyota is committed to constantly enhancing the Sienna so that it remains at the top of the segment.
Last year, Toyota introduced a new all-wheel drive system to enhance the sportiness of the minivan that much more, while Apple CarPlay compatibility and Entune 3.0 were added to its available features. Now for 2020, CarPlay, Android Auto and the Toyota Safety Sense P package have been standardized across the board, improving the value of each Sienna trim.
The Sienna offers a great blend of power, efficiency and utility and it’s packed with great content. If you think it’s the right vehicle for you, be sure to get in touch with us right away here at Arlington Toyota.
