2020 Toyota Highlander Trim Comparison: XLE vs Limited
The 2020 Toyota Highlander has been redesigned for the new model year. Not only does it look better than ever, it’s also has some new and improved features. Those features vary by trim, and if you’re not in-the-know already, then figuring out which features come on which trim can be frustrating. We’re here to help.
Today, we’re looking at the 2020 Toyota Highlander XLE and Limited trims. We’ll be figuring out which features they come standard with, as well as what differentiates them from each other. Take a look and see which is right for you.
The redesigned 2020 Toyota Highlander is available in five trims: L, LE, XLE, Limited, and Platinum. Every Highlander comes with Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 suite which includes a pre-collision system with low-light pedestrian detection, full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, automatic high-beams, and road sign assist. The XLE and Limited both have an 8-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, an integrated Wi-Fi hotspot, tri-zone automatic climate control, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and proximity keyless entry. Each comes with a 3.6-liter V6, an eight-speed automatic transmission, and FWD. AWD is available on every trim.
The Highlander XLE starts at $39,600. It comes standard with second-row captain’s chairs, a 7-inch customizable digital display in the gauge cluster, a wireless device charging pad, SofTex upholstery, heated front seats, and a moonroof. An integrated navigation system is available. The second-row captain’s chairs can be switched out for a bench seat at no cost.
Starting at $43,650, the Highlander Limited has everything the XLE does plus a few additions. Standard features include integrated navigation, an 11-speaker JBL premium audio system, a 120-volt outlet, a hands-free liftgate, front/rear parking sensors, leather trimmed seats, ventilated front setas, and a heated steering wheel. A 12.3-inch touchscreen and a surround-view parking camera system are available.
