2020 Toyota Highlander Palatine IL

The 2019 model year introduced us to an all-new RAV4 that we couldn’t be more pleased with, and now to build upon that we’re getting an all-new 2020 Toyota Highlander in Palatine IL. Adopting a new design both inside and out, the all-new Highlander is more sophisticated and aggressively bold than previous iterations. While performance remains largely the same for the traditional model, the Highlander Hybrid is underpinned by a next-gen hybrid powertrain making it more powerful and efficient than past models.

Way back in the 2001 model year Toyota introduced us to the first-ever Highlander midsize crossover, which lasted until the 2007 model year. Then in 2008, the second generation was revealed, followed by the third generation in 2014. Now, the fourth generation kicks off during the 2020 model year, and we’re quite excited about it.

Specs & Features of the 2020 Highlander

As we mentioned, performance remains very similar to the last incarnation of the Highlander, in that it’s powered by one of the same engines. The difference is that many of the choices have been removed, so that now shoppers can choose between either the 3.5L V6 model, which generates 295 horsepower alongside 263 pound-feet of torque, or the next-generation Hybrid Synergy Drive powertrain, which combines a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine with two electric motors to generate an incredible 240 horsepower while still achieving 34 mpg combined.

Of course, performance isn’t the only thing a midsize crossover like this needs. Space might be considered even more important. Behind the third row of seats is 16.1 cubic feet of space, but dropping the 60/40 split-folding back seats flat opens up 40.6 cu. ft. You can even fold the second row flat for 73.3 cu. ft.

Furthermore, there is a host of great content and exciting features found throughout the vehicle, from entertainment and safety technology to convenience and comfort features, and everything in between.
