The 2020 Corolla Hybrid has much of the comforts and tech available in the traditional Corolla, but with the added benefits of the hybrid powertrain. The 2020 Corolla gets 30/38/33 mpg, where as the Corolla Hybrid gets 53/52/52. That’s about 20 mpg more on average. And as a Corolla, it still has access to the features its siblings do, like the standard adaptive cruise control, automatic climate control, a rearview camera, and Apple CarPlay.
One of the things that the Prius has over the Corolla is its access to multiple trims. Where the Corolla Hybrid only has the LE trim, the 2020 Prius gets L Eco, LE, XLE, and Limited. As a result, the Prius has access to more features, with things like the 11.6-inch touchscreen, the premium JBL audio system, or SofTex leatherette upholstery. The Prius also has AWD-e available on its LE and XLE trims.
Whereas many comparisons between similar vehicles of the same brand rely heavily on person preference, this comparison has clear answer. If you want to customize your vehicle with higher trims and additional features, the 2020 Prius is only option. With 2020 Corolla Hybrid, what you see is what you get. However, if affordability is what matters to you, then the Corolla Hybrid beats out the Prius, as the lowest trim of the Prius, the L Eco, still costs more than the Corolla Hybrid.
