Toyota is known for delivering a quality product. The 2020 Corolla is definitely a quality product. By simply driving it, you can pick up on that. The ride is smooth, even with somewhat rough roads, thanks to a competent and sporty suspension. Just as important is the driver’s seat, which is great in the Corolla. It’s supportive and has myriad adjustments and range to achieve a comfortable driving position, no matter your height. Road and wind noise are practically non-existent.
The Hyundai Eleantra is poor by comparison. The Elantra doesn’t handle bumps well, as its suspension is a little too spongey and its rear-end a little too jumpy. It tends to sway whenever the road gets rougher. This is compounded by uncomfortable seating. In particular, the front seats have awkward flat spots that make long trips impossible. Road and wind noise aren’t terrible, but they are certainly worse than in the Corolla.
Comprehensive Safety Suite
The Corolla comes with a plethora of standard safety features. It has the Toyota Safety Sense™ 2.0 suite with includes a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, dynamic radar adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist and road edge detection, automatic high beams, lane tracing assist, and road sign assist. It also has the Star Safety System™, which houses systems like stability control, traction control, and automatic emergency braking.
