As we’ve said many times before, there may only be a few minivans left on the market, but those that remain are a far cry from their predecessors. More stylish, more powerful, more… well, everything than the minivans that came before them. We thought we’d showcase this by highlighting two modern day minivans in a side-by-side comparison, while also shining a light on the advantages that the Swagger Wagon has over its competitor. With that in mind, we’ve pit the 2019 Toyota Sienna vs 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan.
As you can see by taking one glance at the table below, minivans have a lot to get excited about. They’re surprisingly powerful, they’ve got decent fuel economy for such large vehicles, and most importantly they offer a ton of space. The table also highlights the Sienna’s superiority, but we thought we’d go through row by row to really show you where it gets a leg up.
For starters, that power we keep talking about. The 2019 Toyota Sienna delivers 296 horsepower, which is incredible. The Dodge Grand Caravan is right there with it, blowing those old negative stigmas out of the water, but it comes up 13 HP short. That’s not a huge difference, but it is enough to give the Sienna a leg up.
Yet, even with that leg up, the Sienna still manages to get better gas mileage than the Dodge minivan. Every gallon of fuel consumed allows the Sienna to travel 19 miles through the city or 27 miles on the highway, both of those numbers being 2 mpg better than the Grand Caravan.
Finally that brings us to cargo space, in which once again the Sienna is dominant. 31.1 cubic feet of space behind the back seat is nothing to scoff at, but an 8-cu. ft. difference is pretty extensive. If all of these advantages and impressive specifications have you interested not just in a minivan but the 2019 Toyota Sienna, be sure to get in touch with us right away here at Arlington Toyota.
