2019 Toyota Sequoia vs 2019 Nissan Armada

On today’s market, crossovers are the dominant class without a doubt. There are still large contingents of sedans and trucks out there, obviously, but true SUVs are, for the most part, a distant memory. A few yet remain, a couple of which come from the Toyota brand and are available right here at Arlington. So, if you’re still a fan of the capable, versatile sport utility vehicles of yesteryear, then look no further than the 2019 Toyota Sequoia. We thought we’d see how it measures up to one of the other remaining SUVs on the market by pitting it against the 2019 Nissan Armada. As you can tell with one glance at the table below, these two SUVs are quite comparable to one another, which each having its clear advantages and some of them being less than clear. We thought we’d go through the table row by row to better show you how they differ.

2019 Toyota Sequoia

Vs

2019 Nissan Armada

381 HP / 401 lb-ft. Power Ratings 390 HP / 394 lb-ft.
15 mpg Combined Fuel Efficiency 16 mpg
18.9 cu. ft. Cargo Capacity 16.5 cu. ft.
120.1 cu. ft. Max Cargo Capacity 95.4 cu. ft.

Advantages of the 2019 Sequoia

In the first row we looked at power ratings, both horsepower and torque. On the one hand, the Nissan Armada out-performs the Sequoia by 9 horsepower, but on the other the Sequoia delivers an extra 7 pound-feet of torque. In that regard, power becomes a bit of a wash, but the Armada probably has a small leg up from the jump. Which is particularly unfortunate when we move onto the next row, which shows that the Armada also delivers superior fuel economy ratings. Not by much, as it only gets a single extra mile to the gallon, but still. But that’s when we move into space and the Sequoia really comes into its own. Behind the back seat alone the Sequoia offers nearly 19 cubic feet of space, 2.4 cu. ft. more than the Armada offers to be more precise. And when you drop that back row and the middle row, it opens up a whopping 120.1 cu. ft., which is 24.5 cu. ft. more than the Armada. If you’re okay giving up a tiny bit of power and efficiency for all that extra space, be sure to get in touch with us right away.
