Every time we talk about the Toyota Sienna, we talk about the death of the minivan segment. You would think by now we could stop talking about it, but a lot of people are still holding that negative stigma intact. There are still several minivans available on the market that make excellent options for growing families, and some of them – like the Swagger Wagon itself – have even started to inject sporty design and the like to make them more appealing. We thought we’d see how the Sienna measures up to one of its biggest competitors in that regard by pitting the 2018 Toyota Sienna vs 2018 Chrysler Pacifica.
With one glance at the table above you can see just how comparable these two minivans are to one another, but the Swagger Wagon pulls ahead in a couple categories. For instance, in the very first row, the Sienna trumps the Pacifica in terms of performance thanks to an extra 9 horsepower. But 9 HP is hardly anything, which means the Pacifica is nipping at the Sienna’s heels.
The second row looks at fuel efficiency, in which the two minivans are identical at 22 miles per gallon. The third row brings about the Sienna’s biggest advantage and the biggest difference between the two, in cargo capacity. The Sienna offers an extra 6.8 cubic feet of space to fill with luggage, groceries, or whatever it is you need to bring along with you on the road. But then the fourth row shows once again how similar they are to one another, considering that both offer seating capacity for 7 passengers.
