2018 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Palatine IL

While the Toyota Highlander was introduced in the year 2000, the Highlander Hybrid didn’t follow until the year 2005. That’s not hard to believe or understand, considering the first mass-produced hybrid vehicle (the Prius, in case you were wondering) was released in 2000 as well. The Highlander Hybrid was the first seven-seat hybrid vehicle to hit the market, and remains one of the segment’s leaders and most popular options in the form of the 2018 Toyota Highlander Hybrid in Palatine IL.

If you’ve done any research on the traditional Highlander, then you’ve already got a base understanding of the Highlander Hybrid. The two vehicles are virtually the same, with the only real differences coming in the form of its hybrid powertrain. We will of course dive into some of the Highlander Hybrid’s specs & features below to give you an idea of exactly what it has to offer, so you can get a better understanding, whether you’re knowledgeable on the Highlander or not.

Specs & Features of the 2018 Highlander Hybrid

Let’s start with the most obvious, important aspect of the 2018 Highlander Hybrid – its hybrid powertrain. The Highlander Hybrid combines the traditional model’s 3.5L V6 engine with an electric motor, giving the crossover the ability to generate a net 280 horsepower. This enables the Highlander Hybrid to achieve an EPA-estimated city fuel efficiency of 30 miles per gallon and 28 mpg on the highway. It also means the crossover has earned the Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle rating.

Aspects like safety and utility are just as impressive in the Highlander Hybrid as they are in the traditional Highlander. Safety comes in the form of a standard Toyota Safety Sense P package on every trim level, while utility is enhanced by a number of different things. Of course what might be most exciting about the Highlander Hybrid to some is its amount of entertainment-enhancing technology in the cabin.

For instance, 5 different USB ports are located throughout the crossover, making it much easier to charge your smartphones or other mobile electronic devices while you’re on the go. An available rear-seat entertainment system also enables the family to watch Blu-ray discs while you’re on the road as well! If you’re interested in a 2018 Toyota Highlander Hybrid of your own, be sure to get in touch with us right here at Arlington Toyota today!
