MPGe vs MPG
MPGe is the measurement the EPA uses to rate how far a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) or electric vehicle (EV) can go with electricity or a combination of electricity and gas. It stands for “miles per gallon equivalent.” The RAV4 Prime is a plug-in hybrid. That means it can go up to 42 miles on a single charge without using a drop of gas. You can also set the RAV4 Prime to use both electricity and gas, which extends full economy past the ratings listed above. When the electricity is all used up, the RAV4 Prime operates exactly like a normal hybrid vehicle.
