The benefits are incredibly drastic for anyone who does a decent amount of city driving. For those that live in urban areas, hybrids should be at the top of your list when looking to get a new vehicle. • Avalon Hybrid – $36,850
  • Camry Hybrid – $28,250
  • Corolla Hyrbid (Sedan) – $23,100
  • Highlander Hybrid – $37,520
  • Prius – $24,200
  • Prius Prime – $27,750
  • RAV4 Hybrid – $28,100

Thanks to the previously mentioned advance in hybrid technology, the difference in pricing between internal combustion models and hybrid drivetrain models is minimal.

Fantastic Hybrid MPG

Beside just being great for the environment, hybrids are also great for your wallet. A lot of fuel is wasted in start-and-start traffic with normal combustion vehicles. Hybrids mitigate that by launching a vehicle with electric motors and charging those motors while stopping and through normal operation. Take a look at the differences in mileage:

Does Toyota Make an EV?

The 2019 Toyota Mirai is a hydrogen cell electric vehicle that was available in 2018 and 2019. Toyota took a year to redesign it for 2021, with stunning results. Unfortunately, for those of us outside California, fuel cell refueling stations are practically nonexistent. Hopefully, with the success of recent fully electric vehicles, more alternate fuel technologies like the hydrogen fuel cell will become commonplace.
