New Toyota Vehicles with AWD
AWD is a pretty sought-after feature. It helps you maintain traction in poor and offroad conditions. It’s particularly useful here in the Midwest where snow, ice, and mud can all make driving treacherous. Trying to figure out which vehicles have AWD availability can be difficult, though.
Don’t worry! We’ve compiled a list of new Toyota vehicles with AWD.
AWD Toyota Vehicles
- Prius – $24,200
- RAV4 / RAV4 Hybrid – $25,850 / $28,100
- Highlander / Highlander Hybrid – $31,830 / $37,520
- 4Runner –$36,020
- Tacoma – $26,050
- Tundra – $33,425
- Sienna – $31,565
- Sequoia – $49,905
- Land Cruiser – $85,315
Notably, there are no sedans on this list*. For those wanting a sedan with AWD, we recommend considering the Prius hatchback or the RAV4 crossover as possible substitutes.
*Toyota recently announced that select trims of the North American 2020 Camry and 2020 Avalon will be getting AWD.
Do AWD Vehicles Get Worse Gas Mileage?
Technically, yes. However, the difference is usually only a mile or two per gallon. For example, the 2020 Prius LE AWD-e is estimated at 52 / 48 / 50 mpg and the 2020 Prius LE FWD is estimated at 54 / 50 / 52 mpg. The 2020 RAV4 has even less disparity between its AWD and FWD versions: 27 / 34 / 30 mpg for the RAV4 LE AWD and 27 / 35 / 30 mpg for the RAV4 LE FWD.
Tires and AWD
AWD is only as good as your tires. A FWD vehicle with brand new tires will beat out an AWD vehicle with old tires every time. Therefore, it’s important to make sure you have the right tires. Our tire center can set your vehicle up with the new shoes it needs, be it OEM tires or another major brand.
