It feels like the Toyota Tacoma was just redesigned yesterday, but in truth, it has been a few years. 2016’s third-generation Tacoma has been an incredible pickup truck for its four years on the road thus far, but it’s about to get even better, as Toyota has surprised us with a 2020 facelift for the midsize light-duty pickup truck. This mid-generation refresh means there were a few design enhancements, but also that some of the features and specs have changed as well. So, we’re here to give you the rundown on what’s new.

When Toyota touched on some of the changes coming to the TRD Pro Series models earlier this year, we made the mistake of assuming that meant it the standard Tacoma would just be a carryover. Surprise! The Tacoma is all-new for the 2020 model year thanks to its first third-generation facelift. What’s been enhanced in the design? Every single Tacoma trim level features a redesigned taillamp layout, while many of the grades also feature a brand-new front grille design tailored to the specific trim.
When it comes to features, quite a few things have changed for the 2020 model year to give the Toyota Tacoma even more value than it already offered. The multimedia system has been completely upgraded and now features compatibility with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Amazon Alexa. The SR5 trim level and up when equipped with the V6 engine now features an electronically power-adjustable seat. The top grades now feature both Multi-Terrain Monitor and Panoramic View Monitor as available features. The Limited and TRD trims have added new LED Headlamps. And, finally, the Toyota Safety Sense P package has been standardized across the board.
